Religion was and is plentiful in theories related to the unseen and mystical, seen as different units but as it function as a whole, spirituality is solely (haha like soul) you amongst the unseen and the seen. So religion, as a word, is a loaded unreliable, inaccurate gun. I truly feel like words can be limiting at times and fail the purpose of both speaker and listener. In an initial conversation with someone I thought would’ve made a good friend because she is spiritual said I wasn’t spiritual because I am a Christian. I felt offended but it reminded me how religion has hurt so many humans. From religious wars to the manipulation of words in the Bible for one group to enslave another. Religion is man made and like humans very far from perfect.
A key example of semantics: Muslims do not called themselves sons and daughter like Christian do. Christians also call Jesus Son of God. In the Quran it states Jesus was borne of woman that had NO RELATIONS WITH MAN. Come on now, if that’s ain’t saying the same thing…don’t let the concept of religion hold you back. Same God (different names)+ faith + our own path = spirituality. Even the Bible talked of other (g)ods and rulers of principalities unseen.
Quran 5:75 ‘… His (Jesus) mother (Mary) was a woman of truth.’
Quran 21:91 ‘And (remember) her who guarded her chastity: We breathed into her of our spirit and we made her and her son a sign for all peoples.’
